Papa John’s Teams up with Save the Children to Raise Money this Christmas

Here at Papa John’s, we know that Christmas is a special time of the year for giving.

So, in doing our bit for charity, we’re delighted to announce that we’ve teamed up with Save the Children again this year to raise money for a truly excellent cause. Working together, we’ll be raising funds for children around the world.

Money raised through the campaign could give a child living in a refugee camp clothes to keep them warm through winter, help buy nutritious food for their entire family, or set up a safe space to give children the chance to be children again.

Here’s a look at what we’ll be getting up to and how you can get involved too.

How are Papa John’s Helping?

We’ve teamed up with Save the Children as its flagship partner for its seasonal Christmas Jumper Day, which takes place on Friday 16th December.

The Papa John’s office team will be wearing our festive woolly Christmas jumpers and donating towards this cause to help make a difference for children in deprived areas of the world.

We’re committed to raising £250,000 in total to support this campaign and some of the fundraising initiatives we’ll be taking part in include:

  • Cycling to Paris from the Papa John’s office (it’s only a casual 350 miles!)
  • Breaking up into individual groups in the office to aim to raise £2,200 per team
  • Dough-nating 50p to Save the Children for every XXL pizza sold during the festive season in December
  • Travelling the UK, visiting Manchester, Edinburgh, Bristol and London to recreate the nation’s favourite pizza using jumpers

We’ve also recently completed a sponsored walk to the top of Southern Britain’s highest mountain, Pen y Fan, which has resulted in us raising just under £3,000.

How Can You Get Involved?

If you want to donate, help out and do your bit with us for a great cause, the good news is you can!

Firstly, we’re holding a jumper amnesty for members of the public. Once you’ve chosen your favourite jumper to wear on Christmas Jumper Day, if you have any old jumpers you don’t need, bring them to us and we’ll pass them on to Save the Children to sell in their charity shops to raise even more money.

Take a look at the key dates below to find out where we’ll be and when we’ll be there.

Secondly, when you pay for your pizzas online, why not round up your pennies at the checkout to the nearest pound? The amount you add will be given to charity.

What’s more, we’ll also be offering free samples of our pizzas to members of the public, so there’s even more reason to come down, try our perfect pizzas and do your bit.

About Save the Children

Save the Children believes every child deserves a future. In the UK and around the world, they work every day to give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm.

When crisis strikes and children are most vulnerable, Save the Children are always among the first to respond and the last to leave. They ensure children’s unique needs are met and their voices are heard.

They also deliver lasting results for millions of children, including those hardest to reach and do whatever it takes for children – every day and in times of crisis – transforming their lives and the future we share.
